Touch stimulates the release of endorphins that help reduce pain and increase pleasure. Increased mobility. Massage increases blood circulation and relaxes muscles, allowing for a wider range of movements in some areas.
Massage has proven extremely beneficial for children with all kinds of disabilities or special needs. She's excellent for every element of the child's well-being, emotional, social and physical. For thousands of years, massage has been used for relaxation and comfort. One of the fundamental ways humans communicate and connect is through touch and massage, a safe place for disabled children.
Physical benefits
Massage is used by people from all walks of life, from professional athletes to everyday people, it benefits everyone. Children with disabilities are no exception. Massage is an excellent and gentle method of physical therapy. Here are the three main physical benefits of massage:
Relax the muscles. When a child is often tied to a bed or wheelchair, muscle groups get tired and stiff. Similarly, many conditions result in tight muscles. Massage can help with that – relax the muscles and increase flexibility.
Decrease the pain. Over the years, research has shown the effects of massage on pain. Touch stimulates the release of endorphins that help reduce pain and increase pleasure.
Increased mobility. Massage increases blood circulation and relaxes muscles, allowing for a wider range of movements in some areas.
Psychological benefits
Dr. Fredrick Leboyer, author of Lover Hands, claims that touch is the primary method of adult communication and is particularly poignant for children. It explains the important role of touch in infants' lives when they learn who their caregivers are by the way they are touched. It means that certain types of touch that are reminiscent of childhood provide immense comfort later in life.
Massage is a safe, non-invasive, consensual method of contact for disabled children. These children can experience negative tactical experiences in hospitals and often miss daily contact experiences. The massage allows them to feel a positive touch – comfort and relax.
We found touch to be an excellent method of bonding. It's an important social tool. When families take care of children, they learn the basics of massage, they're given another way to communicate with their child.
Massage is an excellent way for disabled children to take care of their physical and emotional health. Reduction of pain, increased mobility and psychological benefits are just some of the therapeutic experiences of massage.
Touch cures physical and emotional pain
In my career as a massage therapist, I've had the privilege of using a skilled touch to help clients. I help them reduce physical pain and restore the extent of their movements. Often, customers have been in car accidents, suffered traumatic injuries, or have been under repeated stress due to their daily work. Not only did therapeutic massage therapy help my clients overcome physical pain, it has often helped them overcome their emotional pain.
Anyone who's broken an elbow or a leg knows that physical trauma is only half the equation. Emotionally, the life and movement we took for granted are no longer the same. We can't do our hair, drive our cars or operate like we did. It often results in depression, anger, despair and even self-pity. A massage therapist's weekly deep therapeutic massages relieved me of my pain. It also allowed more movement in the elbow joint. Emotionally, I felt like someone cared about me.
Technology and connection 건전마사지
During this pandemic, many of us were forced to learn new technologies online and communicate through Zoom meetings. I was also asked to go there to learn how to teach my online classes, as a technology dinosaur myself. To my astonishment, it's kind of cool and fun! I saw not only my student's face, but also their pajamas, their children, their dogs and their cats! It's surprisingly rewarding.
